Moussa Ndiaye joins on loan from RSC Anderlecht

SV Werder Bremen have signed defender Moussa Ndiaye. The 24-year-old left-back joins Werder on a season-long loan from RSC Anderlecht
“Moussa is a technically strong and hard-working full-back, who already has experience of German football. He gives us another option on the left side of defence and can also play at centre-back. We’re certain he’ll strengthen our squad,” explained Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football at Werder..
Head coach Daniel Thioune is also pleased with the signing: “Moussa is exactly the type of player we were looking for. He’s a tough tackler, offers something going forward and has a good sense of when to hold his position and when to push on. He’s already shown that he can perform in Germany and will give us more options on the left.”
Moussa's first day in Bremen
Ndiaye himself is looking forward to his new challenge: “I already know German football and have played at a few Bundesliga grounds, so I know how intense the game is here and how passionate the fans are. Werder is a club with a great tradition and I had a good feeling from the very first conversations. I want to use my experience to help the team.”
The Senegal-born defender came through FC Barcelona’s academy before joining RSC Anderlecht in 2022. Ndiaye spent last season on loan at FC Schalke 04, establishing himself on the left side of defence and helping the Royal Blues win promotion to the Bundesliga.
