WERDER.DE: Moin, Kenny. It’s great to have you here! Why did you make the decision to join Werder Bremen?

Kenny Quetant: Hi, everyone! It’s great to be here. I decided to join Werder because I want to further my development as a player. I want to help the club and hopefully play my part in the team achieving their aims.

WERDER.DE: You made a conscious decision to move abroad. What attracted you to the Bundesliga and how familiar are you with German football?

Kenny Quetant: I decided to come to the Bundesliga because I watch it a lot. I like how football is played in Germany. It’s a very attacking form of football. I want to score lots of goals, and I can definitely see an opportunity to do that in the Bundesliga.

WERDER.DE: You most recently played for Le Havre AC. Le Havre is on the north coast of France, while SV Werder are known for their stadium on the banks of the Weser. What are your first impressions of Bremen?

Kenny Quetant: I watch Werder Bremen games very often, so I’ve already seen the location of the stadium. I really like it. Now, I can’t wait to find out what it’s like to play at the Weserstadion!

WERDER.DE: You’ve come through a renowned youth academy at Le Havre. Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet are among those who learnt their trade there. What was special about your development at the club?

Kenny Quetant: Ever since I joined at the age of 13, the club have given me so much. They gave me the will to win and I’ve learnt a lot there that will help me in the future.

WERDER.DE: Do you have an idol who you model your game on? How would you describe yourself as a player?

Kenny Quetant: Karim Benzema was one of my idols when I was a kid. He still is today. Then, Kylian Mbappé came along. I see myself as a footballer who’s always looking to drive my team forward and score goals.

WERDER.DE: You made the step-up to Le Havre’s senior squad in the winter. How do you look back on your first ten matches with the first team?

Kenny Quetant: My senior debut came in the Coupe de France. I enjoyed all of my first matches and even scored my first goal in Ligue 1 in front of the fans and my family. That was incredible. It was really exhilarating and an amazing experience.

WERDER.DE: You are now moving away from familiar surroundings. What will help you feel at home in your new city?

Kenny Quetant: I visited Bremen a month ago and had a look around the city. I really liked Bremen. Now, I obviously need to settle into the team and find my place here, but my first impressions of Bremen are very good.

WERDER.DE: Thank you! Merci beaucoup!
