SV Werder Bremen are delighted to announce the sealing of another signing. Defender Oskar Wójcik joins the club from Polish top-flight side KS Cracovia. Werder’s managing director for sport, Clemens Fritz, confirmed the news on Thursday.
“Oskar was one of the standout players in the Polish league last season. We have been following him for some time. We are delighted that the opportunity has now arisen to sign him and that he has decided to become part of the Werder family,” said Clemens Fritz.
Head coach Daniel Thioune is also looking forward to working with the new arrival: “Oskar has made excellent progress and enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Polish Ekstraklasa last year. He brings a lot of qualities as a centre-back and can start to play an important role for us straight away.”
“I’m simply looking forward to getting started. I’ve already heard so much about the fans and the atmosphere inside the stadium. Now I want to experience it for myself. Taking the step into the Bundesliga, and especially joining Werder, feels right. It is the perfect time for me. The conversations with the club hierarchy were very positive, and my first impressions of the club and everyone working here have been excellent,” said Oskar Wójcik.
Wójcik began his football journey at Tarnovia Tarnów before joining the youth setup at KS Cracovia, where he later made his breakthrough into professional football. The defender has made 32 appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa so far, including 31 last season. At the end of May 2026, he made his senior international debut for Poland in a match against Ukraine.
