Another Werder academy product has committed his future to the club. Attacker Paul Erevbenagie has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Green-Whites. This was announced by head of professional football Peter Niemeyer on Saturday.

“Paul Erevbenagie is a quick and technically gifted attacking player who can make things happen out of nowhere with his dribbling ability. Paul has already helped our U19s win the DFB Junior Cup and picked up minutes in the Regionalliga last season. He will now continue to gain playing time with the U23s and steadily further his development,” said Peter Niemeyer. “Paul has already shown his huge potential while training with the first team. We’re looking forward to following his development closely.”

Paul Erevbenagie is equally excited about the future. “The club presented me with a clear plan for how I can develop and fully realise my potential at Werder. Signing this contract is the next step and a form of recognition for my hard work over the past few years. It means a lot to me to be continuing my journey with this club, but I won’t rest on my laurels. Instead, I’ll look to improve and take the next step in my career during the coming season,” said the 18-year-old.

Paul Erevbenagie joined the Werder academy from JFV Bremerhaven in 2022. The winger was part of SVW’s 2024/25 DFB Junior Cup-winning side and provided the assist for the Green-Whites’ second goal in the final. Erevbenagie made nine appearances for U19s last season, scoring three times, and netted four goals in 18 matches for the U23s.
