Werder’s second training camp of the summer is underway. From Monday to Friday, Daniel Thioune’s side will continue their pre-season preparations behind closed doors in Harsewinkel.
Four Werder players have remained in Bremen and will not take part in the camp: Mats Heitmann (muscular issue), Niklas Stark (thigh problem), Keke Topp (rehab) and Felix Agu (calf muscle injury). Chuki, Dawid Kownacki and Salim Musah, who are currently sidelined through illness, are due to join the squad later, as is Skelly Alvero, who has recently been absent for personal reasons. Musah and Alvero are expected to link up with the team on Monday evening.
Romano Schmid will also not be part of the training camp. The Austria international has travelled for talks with another club.
