Goal of the Season: Nordderby stunner takes the crown

Over the past few days, we’ve been asking you to vote for Werder’s Goal of the Season for 2025/26 – and the results are in! Jens Stage’s strike against Hamburger SV to make it 2-1 in the eventual 3-1 Nordderby victory has been voted your top goal of the campaign.
With a moment of pure quality in the 57th minute, the Denmark international put the Green-Whites ahead against their North German rivals. After being picked out by Cameron Puertas, Stage cushioned the ball with the sole of his boot before curling an unstoppable effort into the top corner from 20 yards out, sparking rapturous celebrations at the Weserstadion.
With almost 70 per cent of the vote, Werder’s number 6 came out on top in the final round ahead of Marco Grüll and Keke Topp. Grüll’s superb strike against Union Berlin and Topp’s last-gasp equaliser against Borussia Mönchengladbach were the other contenders.
