Ömer Toprak is still yet to get back to training with the ball. Instead the defender is continuing to work on a comeback to proper training. "I feel okay and I'm constantly getting better and better," reported Toprak to werder.de during a rehab session.

At the beginning of March, in the cup game against Eintracht Frankfurt, the 30-year-old suffered a ligament injury in addition to a laceration on the calf, which forced him to wear a special shoe. After several weeks, Toprak can now finally take the shoe off. "Now I'm working on mobility," reported Toprak from rehabilitation training. Strength and endurance training are now on the menu for Werder's number 21 as he looks to make a full recovery and get back into shape.
