For the first time: On Sunday, two brothers started a Bundesliga match for Werder Bremen for the first time. Maxi and Jojo Eggestein had been on the pitch at the same time together several times, and even both scored in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, but they hadn’t started together. This changed yesterday, when the youth products were both named in the Green-Whites’ starting XI.
More respect needed: Max Kruse believes that the discussion about his fitness has gone a step too far: “It’s time for a few people to come back to reality. He earned his place in the starting XI and he did well.” Baumann is also optimistic that “it won’t be his last start.”
