Attacker Josh Sargent will be out for the rest of the Hinrunde for Werder Bremen after pulling his right hamstring. The American will spend some time with team doctor Dr. Daniel Hellermann.

The problem first arose on international break with the USA when he played 90 minutes against Cuba, scoring twice. He was, however, able to play in the game against Wolfsburg without any discomfort.  But after the subsequent training session, he complained again about pain in his hamstring. Investigations in the following days then gave the diagnosis.

"Since this is a small, deep-set muscle, the problems only occur at certain, very specific loads, which is why he was able to play and train for so long with problems. We will now give Josh’s injury time to properly heal, then he will get back to training in January,” said head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
