Lynen an option to start against Leipzig

SV Werder Bremen are running through their final preparations ahead of this weekend’s game against RB Leipzig (Saturday, 4th April, 15:30 CEST). Head coach Daniel Thioune will be pleased that there have been a couple of positive developments on the squad front as we head into matchday 28 of the Bundesliga season – not least that midfield stalwart Senne Lynen is back in contention to start against RBL.
“I’m currently approaching the game with Senne Lynen fully involved in our plans. We’ll wait and see how the final training sessions go, but so far he’s had no complaints about the workload that he’s been given. He’s an option for the starting XI as it currently is,” said Thioune.
It’s a slightly different story concerning the fitness of striker Jovan Milošević, who has recently been sidelined due to back problems. It’s possible that he might make the matchday squad, but a starting spot is ruled out for this weekend. “There’s a chance that Jovan might travel with us on Saturday, but he can only realistically afford 10 to 15 minutes. Considering our squad situation, though, it’s good that we have a centre forward nearing a return to fitness.”
The Green-Whites will once again be without those with long-term injuries: Karl Hein (thumb injury), Julian Malatini (syndesmosis tear in the ankle), Wesley Adeh (ligament tear), Maximilian Wöber (muscle problems), Niklas Stark (muscle problems), Keke Topp (ACL injury) and Mitchell Weiser (ACL injury). Victor Boniface and Amos Pieper, who have both started training on the pitch again, will also both be unavailable on Saturday.
