Just two days after signing for the club, Jovan Milošević made his debut in a Werder shirt during the 3-0 away defeat at Borussia Dortmund, coming off the bench in the 69th minute. On Wednesday, 14th January 2025, the on-loan striker spoke to the media in the mixed zone, sharing his thoughts on…
…his debut: “It was a tough game. When I came on, it wasn’t easy. Still, it was a good experience for me and I think we did a lot of things right. But we know we have to improve for the next challenge on Friday.”
…the current lack of goals: “Yes, we need to score goals. I hope I can help with that. I’m convinced they will come. Of course, nobody is happy when you’re not winning, but I want to do my part to get us back to winning ways.”
…his decision to join Werder on loan: “I had good conversations with Werder and then decided for myself that this was the right step at this moment. Werder needed a striker and I really wanted to play in the Bundesliga – one of the best leagues in the world.”
)
…the expectations around him: “I’m just a normal guy who wants to give his best. I hope it won’t take me too long to settle in. I want to integrate as quickly as possible and give 100% every day. It doesn’t matter that I’m only here until the summer, I always give everything. That’s just the way I am.”
…his Bundesliga experience at VfB Stuttgart: “I was 18 in Stuttgart and still very young, now I’m at least a bit older (laughs). But more importantly, I’ve gained a lot of experience since then. The standard of the Bundesliga is very high, and now I want to prove myself here at Werder.”
…his loan spell in Bremen: “Werder are one of the biggest clubs in Germany, with great fans. I know Miloš Veljković from the national team, but I didn’t ask him about Werder or what it’s like here before coming.”
