For a training match, the meeting between SV Werder and AC Monza had something to offer. After 100' hard minutes, the match ended in a draw with two goals apiece. After a quiet opening phase, Monza took the lead through Marco Fossati (22'), Marco Friedl hit back moments later (25'). Before the halfway mark, Maximilian Eggestein fired Werder into the lead (33'). Stefanos Kapino was in the thick of the action in the second half, denying the Italians on two occasions. But he was powerless to stop the equaliser in the 71st minute.
