Fin Bartels: “We are obviously disappointed. However, if we take a step back from everything, we will be able to take positives from our second half of the campaign, but at the moment we are more disappointed. We once again came back into the game and proved great spirit. It’s a shame that it didn’t pay off.”
Zlatko Junuzovic: “I think we showed a great performance today. Of course, the ending was rather unfortunate. Again, we believed in ourselves and in our quality. We have to take the positives from this performance. We played well in transition and it’s agonising that we didn’t reward ourselves.”
Max Kruse: “It’s very unfortunate. When you hold a 3-2 lead after 70 minutes you should normally manage to win the game. We simply acted to carelessly in defence today. Usually, if you score three goals on the road you should be able to walk away with something.”
Alexander Nouri: “Dortmund desperately needed the victory. To then pull off such a performance, and even dominate the game during spells of the second half, but still suffer a loss is extremely unfortunate. Especially when two penalty decisions lead to the dropped points. The dynamics of this game never allowed anyone to predict a winner today. We are very disappointed right now, but I’m sure that we will soon feel more pride than anything else.”
