After returning to Bremen following an intense 10-day training camp in Zillertal, head coach Ole Werner’s side will be back in team training on Tuesday. Captain Marco Friedl, Felix Agu and Naby Keïta will not be able to take part, while Milos Veljkovic and Mitchell Weiser (partially) will be able to return.
Tuesday comes too soon for Friedl, who suffered an abdominal injury during the friendly against Toulouse. The same goes for Agu, who continues to work on his comeback from an operation on his patellar tendon. Naby Keïta took part in an individual session as he works his way back to full fitness after a muscle issue. Milos Veljkovic and Mitchell Weiser also took part in an individual session on Tuesday afternoon. Also on the pitch was Tommy Stroot, the head coach of the VfL Wolfsburg women’s team, who will be observing the Werder coaches at work until next week.
