Mitchell Weiser will wear the green and white of SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga next season! The 28-year-old, who joined the club on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen last season, has now joined the Green-Whites on a permanent deal with immediate effect, as reported by Clemens Fritz, head of professional football and scouting, on Friday.
“We’re delighted to make this transfer a reality. His quality speaks for itself – he helped us massively on the road to promotion last season and we’re sure that his experience of 140 Bundesliga appearances will mean he plays a key role in the team in this campaign,” said Clemens Fritz.
Ole Werner also appeared happy with the signing: “Mitch was an important of our game last season both on and off the pitch, so I’m delighted that he’ll be a part of the team next season.”
“I felt right at home at Werder from the very start, and I’m very happy to be able to carry on my journey for the long term in Bremen. Even in the second division, playing for Werder was something special with the fans, so I’m already excited to find see how it’ll be in the Bundesliga,” said Weiser.
Mitchell Weiser joined SV Werder Bremen from Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan last season, and played 24 matches for the Green-Whites in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring twice. In total, Weiser has made 37 second-division appearances (four goals) and played 140 Bundesliga games, scoring nine times.
