Rivals in the league but both off to Spain. SV Werder Bremen and FC St. Pauli will make the journey to Spain together on 2nd January 2022 and also fly back together on the 9th. The Green-Whites and the team out of the Millerntor stadium will fly to Alicante on one charter flight from Hamburg airport.

“FC St. Pauli’s training camp will be in Benidorm, near Alicante, which is not far from where we will be based. Therefore, it seemed appropriate for both clubs, who both support sustainability in football, to share one flight to cut down on CO2 emissions,” explained Dr. Hubertus Hess-Grunewald, Werder’s vice-president – responsible for these matters.

Markus Anfang’s team will stay at the Doubletree by Hilton La Torre Golf Resort near Murcia from the 2nd to the 9th of January to prepare for the second half of the Bundesliga 2 season. At the moment, friendlies are planned on the 5th and the 8th of January, but the opponents, venues and kick off times are yet to be decided.
