A week ahead of the transfer deadline, a new striker has joined the ranks. Marvin Ducksch joins Werder from league rivals Hannover 96. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the deal for the 27-year-old.
“We’re very pleased that Marvin has joined us. We’ve been after him for a long time, and our patience and persistence has paid off. Marvin has demonstrated his quality in both scoring and assisting goals in the second division over recent years and we are convinced that he can have an immediate impact here,” said Werder sporting director Frank Baumann.
Marvin Ducksch is full of anticipation for his upcoming tasks in Bremen. “I’m very pleased to finally be here. Werder is a club with a lot of tradition – I didn’t have to take much time to mull over the decision once the call came. I’m sure that we can be successful together.”
In 109 second division games for Hannover 96, Holstein Kiel and FC St. Pauli, Ducksch has scored 50 goals and provided 24 assists. The attacker will take the number 7 shirt at Werder.
