Ludwig Augustinsson will leave SV Werder Bremen to join La Liga side Sevilla, after both sides reached an agreement for the transfer of the Sweden international.
“Ludde came to us pretty early on and told us of his wish to continue playing first-division football. We were in talks with several clubs and have now reached an agreement with Sevilla. We wish Ludde all the best for his new challenge,” said Werder sporting director, Frank Baumann.
Augustinsson will leave with fond memories of his time in Bremen. “I would like to say thank you to the entire Werder family for the four years I spent here,” he said. “Werder will always be a special place for me. It was the first club I played for outside of Scandinavia, and my daughter was born here. Thank you to everyone at the club, the fans, the staff and my teammates! I wish Werder all the best for the new season!”
Ludwig Augustinsson joined Werder from FC Copenhagen in 2017. The 27-year-old made 115 competitive appearances for the Green-Whites in that time, scoring three goals. He netted a crucial away goal to put Werder ahead 2-1 in the second leg of the relegation play-off against Heidenheim, effectively securing Bundesliga survival for the club in 2019/20.
