Preparations for the new season will begin on Sunday 19th June 2022 with performance tests. The official start of pre-season training is Wednesday 22nd June at the wohninvest WESERSTADION, before the team travels to the training camp in Zillertal on Thursday 30th June.

The preparations for the 2022/23 Bundesliga season are becoming set in stone. Head coach Ole Werner set the dates for the start of training and the training camp some time ago, and now the first friendlies have also been scheduled. The team will take on VfL Oldenburg at the Berliner Ring stadium in Verden/Aller Saturday 25th June, before a game against Karlsruher SC at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller, Austria on Sunday 3rd July. More friendlies will be added before the club’s first comepetitie match of the season, the DFB-Pokal first-round fixture against Energie Cottbus (Friday 29th July at the Stadion der Freundschaft in Cottbus). Werder’s Bundesliga season will then kick off between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th August 2022. The exact dates and times of the opening match days will be published on Friday 17th June 2022.
