Preparations for the first match have begun! SV Werder Bremen took to the training pitch on Tuesday afternoon to get the final week of training ahead of the start of the Bundesliga 2 season underway. The Green-Whites start the season against Hannover 96 on Saturday 24th July (20:30 CEST) at the wohninvest WESERSTADION.

The injured Leonardo Bittencourt (partial knee ligament rupture), Abdenego Nankishi (muscle), Milos Veljkovic (quarantine) and Thore Jacobsen (cruciate ligament rupture) were missing from training. Meanwhile, Nicolai Rapp, Eren Dinkci, Dominik Becker and Jiri Pavlenka trained individually.

Ludwig Augustinsson has also returned to Bremen. The left-back made it to the last 16 of the European Championship with his native Sweden. He has now finished his holiday and will start training again in the coming days after individual performance testing.
