Marco Friedl won’t be taking part in team training for the next few days after the centre-back sustained a severe bruise to his thigh during a challenge in the closing stages of the match against FC Hansa Rostock. A medical examination the following morning confirmed this.
“The examination has shown no structural damage to the muscle tissue, but there is internal bleeding at it’s a painful one. We now need to wait and see how the muscle recovers over the next few days,” commented Clemens Fritz, director of football and scouting at Werder Bremen.
