Werder to start the new season away to Wolfsburg

First home game against Stuttgart, Union away on the final day

SV Werder Bremen will begin 2022/23 away to VfL Wolfsburg. The first matchday of the new Bundesliga season will be played on the weekend of 6th August. VfB Stuttgart will be the first visitors to the wohninvest WESERSTADION. The DFL announced the fixture list on Friday morning.

Matchday 3 will see SVW take on last season’s runners-up Borussia Dortmund between 19th and 21st August at the Signal Iduna Park. The first clash with the defending champions, FC Bayern, will be on matchday 14 (away from home on 8th/9th November). Werder’s final league game of 2022 before the Qatar World Cup is at home to RB Leipzig (11th – 13th November). 2023 kicks off at 1. FC Köln between 20th and 22nd January 2023. The final game of the season will be away to 1. FC Union Berlin on 27th May 2023.
