Werder Bremen management have been in detailed discussions with the Kosovan and Dutch national football associations this weekend. The issue at hand was the availability of Milot Rashica and Tahith Chong as Werder did not want the players to travel to areas considered to be high-risk. The players would have had to quarantine for five days upon returning, even in the case of a negative Covid-19 test, as mandated by the Bremen department for public health. This would mean that the players could be unavailable for the start of competitive action in the DFB-Pokal against Carl-Zeiss Jena.
