The Werder Bremen staff will undergo a further two major changes ahead of the Bundesliga 2 season. Head analyst Mario Baric will leave the club.
"Mario came to us and requested his contract be terminated. We very-much regret this decision, because Mario has come a long way with us. He would however, on the one hand, like to take on a new challenge, and on the other hand, he would like to leave Bremen for family reasons. We obviously respect this. His role will be taken over by Sören Quittkat and Andre Pawlowski, who both do a great job for us in the analysis department," said Frank Buamann.
In addition to Mario Baric’s departure, the Green-Whites are welcoming a new member of the coaching team in Tom Cichon, who spent many years as Markus Anfang’s assistant at Köln and Kiel among other players. "Those two with Florian Junge are a team that knows each other well. Tom will be the coordinator between the coaching team, the scouts and the analysis team, as he was in his last position in Darmstadt," said Baumann. Danijel Zenkovic will remain in the coaching team and focus on the connection to youth players, the younger players in the senior squad and the Top Talent concept.
