Striker Davie Selke is set to miss Werder Bremen’s last two games of 2020 due to an injury picked up in training. The 25-year-old is hoping to be fit in time for the first home game of the new year against Union Berlin.

Selke has undergone examinations of the thigh injury sustained in the preparations for the game against RB Leipzig in Munich, along with consultations with club doctor Dr. Daniel Hellermann. An MRI has revealed that the setback is not as serious as was feared, but that the striker will miss both of the games in the run-up to Christmas. Selke is hoping to return in time to face Union Berlin in the first game of the new year after the shortened Christmas break.
