Werder´s new signing Oscar Schönfelder is facing a spell on the sidelines. The attacking midfielder, who signed from 1. FSV Mainz 05´s U19s this summer and was due to join the first team in pre-season, has suffered an ankle injury.
“In order to get back into his rhythm after the Corona break, Oscar took part in the first few training sessions with the U23s. Unfortunately there was an incident in training where he injured his ankle,” explained Kohfeldt at Monday´s press conference. The Werder coach expects him to be out for at least three weeks.
