Werder to kick-off 2020/21 at home against Hertha

SV Werder Bremen will begin the 2020/21 Bundesliga season at home against Hertha BSC. The Green-Whites will host the capital city club at the wohninvest WESERSTADION on the weekend of 18th-21st September. The Deutsche Fußball-Liga (DFL) announced the fixture list for the upcoming season on Friday afternoon. 

Head coach Florian Kohfeldt's side will face FC Schalke 04 in their first away game of the new season, before newly-promoted second-division champions Arminia Bielefeld travel to Bremen on Oktoberfest weekend. Werder will face record champions Bayern on the road on the weekend of 20th-23rd November. The Green-Whites will end 2020 with an away game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on matchday 13. Werder will begin and end the season at home, as they host Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 34 (22nd May 2021).
