Great news for Werder fans as the new week of training begins ahead of the game against Leverkusen: Ömer Toprak and Yuya Osako are back in team training. Niklas Moisander is also close to being back in action. However, Claudio Pizarro is working individually.

There will be some returnees in Tuesday afternoon’s session. Ömer Toprak wasn’t in the squad for last weekend’s game after picking up a setback before the game against Frankfurt. The 30-year-old is now back in full team training, having recovered from a calf problem.

Yuya Osako is also back from the thigh injury he picked up against Union Berlin. Kohfeldt is confident that the Japan international will play some part in the game against Leverkusen. He will take part in team training this afternoon.

Last but not least, Niklas Moisander is also available for selection. The captain returned to training last week after a muscular problem, and will complete an individual session today.

There is no afternoon session on the agenda for Claudio Pizarro, however. The Peruvian will work individually today.
