Head coach Florian Kohfeldt will have to do without Sebastian Langkamp for the crucial match against Augsburg at the weekend. The centre back picked up a knee problem during Monday’s training session and will therefore have to sit out at the weekend. It remains to be seen whether he will be back in time for the DFB Pokal clash against Dortmund next week.

“Sebastian Langkamp has an irritation in his knee,” explained Florian Kohfeldt in Thursday afternoon’s press conference. He has been ruled out of Saturday’s game, but is still in contention for a start in the upcoming games against Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin.

Ludwig Augustinsson and Theodor Gebre Selassie could both be on the verge of making their comebacks. Kohfeldt has confirmed that he is aiming to have both full backs, who are both recovering from a thigh injury, back in time for the Leipzig game. However, the coach was unable to provide an update on Philipp Bargfrede’s status, who is working to come back from a calf injury, “We can’t set a date for Bargi’s return yet.”
