While the substitutes and unused players from yesterday’s defeat in Mainz completed a training session on Sunday morning, Theodor Gebre Selassie went to see club doctor Dr. Daniel Hellermann.

The full back suffered an injury to his left ankle during the 3-1 loss in Mainz and had to be substituted shortly before half time. Dr. Hellermann’s examinations showed that the 33-year-old had suffered a sprain on his left foot (compressive sprain).

“We will have to monitor the pain and swelling day-by-day and see how we can increase his workload throughout the week before deciding whether he will be available for Köln,” explained head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
