Defender Felix Beijmo has been loaned out until the winter break. The right-back will be transferred with immediate effect to Swedish first-division side Malmö FF. Werder sporting director Frank Baumann announced the deal on Tuesday afternoon.
“Malmö is a really good place for Felix to gain match experience in his home country. Alongside league games, he will also have the chance to qualify for the Europa League, which will stand him in great stead if he wants to gain experience on the international stage. It’s the right move for him in his current stage of development,” explained Baumann.
The Swedish Allsvenskan is smack bang in the middle of its season. After the 19th match of the season, Uwe Rösler’s team find themselves third in the table. Aside from that, Sweden’s record champions also have a great chance of progressing to the fourth round of the Europa League after the team, captained by former Werder man Markus Rosenberg, beat Zrinjski Mostar 3-0 in the first leg of the third round.
Felix Beijmo came to Werder in the summer of 2018. The Swedish U21s international has featured three times for Werder’s U23s in the Regionalliga Nord.
