On Friday morning, SV Werder Bremen departed to travel south to Munich and then onto the Bavarian resort of Grassau for their second training camp of the 2019/20 pre-season. The Green-Whites flew to Munich at 09:50 CEST this morning before travelling on to Grassau. 27 players are in the squad for the week-long camp. “It will be a week in which we will work intensively together as a full team. Everything is very close, the pitch is superb and the hotel is good. We can expect great conditions,” said a pleased Florian Kohfeldt who added: “We will be able to simulate match situations. Everything has been prepared in the best way possible.”

Unlike the previous training camp in the Zillertal valley in Austria, Maximilian and Johannes Eggestein are travelling with their Werder teammates after they returned from their extended summer break following Germany’s run to the U21 European Championship final. The injured trio of Philipp Bargfrede, Sebastian Langkamp and Milos Veljkovic are also travelling to Bavaria and will continue their rehabilitation in Grassau. The trio will also complete some individual training sessions during their time in Bavaria. “The bulk of the first team will be together as the captain and team committee will be decided on. We will also discuss season goals. I would like everyone to be involved in this decision making. The rehabilitation conditions are also very good in Grassau, meaning that Sebastian Langkamp, Milos Veljkovic and Philipp Bargfrede can continue their recoveries,” explained Kohfeldt.
