After the announcement from Hertha BSC (Werder’s most recent opponents) that one of their players has tested positive for Coronavirus, SV Werder Bremen officials contacted the Bremen public health department and other medical experts in order to discuss their next course of action.

The result of these discussions was that it was deemed unnecessary for Werder’s squad to be put into quarantine because the player in question first experienced symptoms enough time after the game was played that there was no risk of the infection spreading, according to the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute.
