Werder fans will be able to enjoy Bundesliga football once again from the comfort of their own homes this weekend. The DFL, together with EA Sports FIFA and the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs, has organised the Bundesliga Home Challenge. This weekend, various Bundesliga players will face each other on the virtual pitch. Representing SV Werder in the competition will be Maximilian Eggestein.

The 23-year-old will face off against a representative from 1. FC Nürnberg. His partner in the competition will be Werder eSports player and defending German FIFA champions, Michael "MegaBit" Bittner. Both Werder players will play one PlayStation 4 match, and will have their results added together at the end. Eggestein will do his best to cause problems for the Nürnberg defence, while also securing Werder's first win in the Bundesliga Home Challenge. The 23-year-old thinks he has a good chance of being successful in the competition, adding "I'm definitely one of the better FIFA players within our team. My strengths are possession-based football, and I can usually create some good chances for myself up front in order to score."

Werder will stream Maxi and MegaBit's match live on the Werder Twitch channel on Sunday, 29.03.2020 at 15:00 CET. Over the course of two weekends, representatives from the 26 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs participating in the competition will challenge each other in FIFA20.
