Werder Bremen suffered a 2-1 defeat against Dutch outfit FC Emmen on Tuesday evening in the first friendly of the international break. The Green Whites fell behind in the 28th minute through a goal from Alexander Bannink. Davy Klaassen rewarded Werder’s decent first-half performance with an equaliser five minutes before the break. The defence consisted of the experienced Sebastian Langkamp as well as three youth players in Jannes Vollert, Malte Karbstein and Thore Jacobsen.
