Werder’s last game at home this year ended in a 1-1 draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. It was a game rich in chances, and Werder looked the most likely to win after a dominant second half. The Green-Whites had decent chances before half time through Osako and Kruse, but it was Hoffenheim who took the lead through Bittencourt in the 31st minute. Werder came flying out the blocks in the second half and were on level terms in the 57th minute. It was one-way traffic from there on and the home side really should have won the game but didn’t take their chances.
