Werder secured their first home win of the season, beating Hertha Berlin 3-1 at the Weserstadion. After two draws at home so far, the Green-Whites finally gave the 39,100 fans present tonight a reason to celebrate. Martin Harnik (11’) and Milos Veljkovic (45’) put Werder into a deserved half-time lead, before Javairo Dilrosun (53’) pulled one back for the away side. After Werder won a penalty, captain Max Kruse (66’) stepped up and coolly put the ball beyond the Hertha goalkeeper to secure the win.
