Werder’s 19-man squad are set to travel to the team hotel ahead of the game against Fortuna Düsseldorf tomorrow evening. However, there’s a new face in their ranks: Josh Sargent. The US international will be in the Bundesliga squad for the first time, as Florian Kohfeldt confirmed on Thursday.
“He’ll definitely be in the squad. He’s earned it with his performances in training in recent weeks,” said the Werder head coach.
However, he didn’t conform who will be playing in the game. Yuya Osako took part in training on Thursday after his infection and is doing “much better than expected,” according to Kohfeldt.
