Young talent Ole Käuper has left Werder to sign for FC Erzgebirge Aue on loan, where he will stay for a year and a half. Sporting director Frank Baumann revealed the news on Sunday.
“This was a joint decision we made with Ole. He needs to be playing regular football so that he can develop properly. We have a number of good players in his position, so it has been very difficult for him to get any game time in the Bundesliga. For that reason, this move to Aue is a very sensible decision. Hopefully he can carry on developing himself there,” explained Frank Baumann.
Ole Käuper is excited for his new challenge: “After spending almost my whole career at Werder, I now have a new challenge, which I am looking forward to. I want to make the next step in my life in Aue and then carry on my career back in Bremen.”
Ole Käuper signed for Werder in 2005 from ATSV Sebaldsbrück and has since played for all the youth sides at the club, before debuting for the first team in both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. He has also played 57 games for Werder’s U23 side in the third-division, scoring three goals.
