Niclas Füllkrug will rejoin SV Werder Bremen from Hannover 96 this summer. Green-Whites sporting director Frank Baumann made the announcement on Thursday as Werder reached an agreement with Hannover for the 26 year-old's transfer. The transfer fee and contract details will remain undisclosed by both clubs.

"In previous years, Niclas has matured into an established Bundesliga player. We are convinced he can play an important role in our attacking play. Consequently, we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring him back to Bremen," explained Werder sporting director Frank Baumann.

Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt is also pleased with the striker signing for the club. "I know Niclas from my time with the Werder Bremen youth setup and I know exactly what qualities he possesses in front of goal. Niclas is a strong attacker in the air and can show his strengths to full potential in the box. I have followed his progress and development closely for several years and am glad to have him as part of our squad for next season."

Niclas Füllkrug joined the WERDER youth academy in 2006 from Sportfreunden Ricklingen. The Hannover born attacker developed through each of the Green-Whitev youth teams before making his Bundesliga debut against Bayer Leverkusen in January 2012. "I spent the vast majority of my youth in Bremen and at Werder and still have a close connection to the club. I'm delighted to return to the club and most of all to play in front of the Werder fans again. It always and always will be a special feeling for me to play in the Weser-Stadion, regardless of whether I'm playing for Werder or against them," said Füllkrug. The striker joined SpVgg Greuther Fürth on loan in 2013 before joining 1. FC Nürnberg in 2014. Füllkrug then joined Hannover 96 in 2015 and has gone on to score 28 goals in 102 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. The former Germany youth international has also scored 18 goals in 70 Bundesliga appearances.
