SV Werder Bremen have come to an agreement with 1. FC Köln for the transfer of Florian Kainz, subject to a medical.
“We have come to an agreement in principle with Köln for a fee and the transfer itself, but Kainz must first pass a medical after Köln return from their training camp on Friday,” announced Werder’s Sporting Director Frank Baumann, who added: “We thank Florian for the appearances he’s made for the club in recent years, and wish him all the best for the future.”
Kainz himself is looking back positively on his time at Werder: “I want to thank the team, fans and coaching staff for the last few years. I’ve always felt very at home in Bremen. In the first couple of years, when we were battling relegation, the support was brilliant,” says the 26-year-old.
Florian Kainz moved to Werder from Rapid Wien in the summer of 2016. He made 59 appearance for Werder, scoring eight goals.
