SV Werder Bremen will be without Martin Harnik for the first round of the DFB-Pokal this Saturday. The striker picked up a thigh strain in the friendly against Villarreal last weekend. “A scan revealed that we’re dealing with a muscle strain. Martin definitely won’t play against Worms. There’s a chance that he’ll be fit for the game against Hannover 96, but it’ll be touch and go,” said Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt.

Sebastian Langkamp also has to take a break from training. The defender suffered a nasty gash to his knee during the friendly on Saturday and needs to let it heal. However, Jaroslav Drobný and Kevin Möhwald will both gradually step up their training this week. “Both players will train individually for now and definitely won’t play a part this Saturday,” said Kohfeldt.
