"We’re pleased for both of them. For Maxi, this would be a fantastic way to round off his development within the team to one of their most important players. For Jojo, this would be a big step to establishing himself in the team," said Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
The U21 EUROS will take place from the 16th to 30th June in Italy and San Marino. Germany U21 head coach Stefan Kuntz has called up a total of 27 players to complete the pre-tournament training camp in South Tyrol, before the final squad is to be announced.
