The evening could not have started better for Milot Rashica. He was not only in the starting XI as Kosovo drew 1-1 with the Faroe Islands but he also scored nine minutes into the game and what a goal it was. The 22-year-old scored from 25 meters out into the top right hand corner. It was not only his first international goal but also his first full ninety minutes in his 18th game for Kosovo. Thanks to the draw, Kosovo remain unbeaten in the Nations League. Two wins and two draws leave Rashica and Kosovo top of Group 3 in the D league.

Serbia are also top of their table. After their 0-0 draw against Romania, the team with ex Werder player and coach Mladen Krstajic are on eight points. Milos Veljkovic has been vital to the fact that Serbia have not conceded in their last two games. Werder’s centre-back was once again in the starting line-up and played the whole 90 minutes. This was his fifth match in a row for the Serbs.

Theodor Gebre Selassie also played the full 90 minutes as Czech Republic beat Slovakia 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Czech Republic got their first three points in Group 1 in League B after their victory. It was Gebre Selassie’s 47th cap for the Czech Republic. Jiri Pavlenka did not feature.
Another Werder player was on international duty; Luca Plogmann played in the Germany U19’s 5-1 victory. Manuel Mbom also played in both friendlies, playing 80 minutes against Cyprus. Before this friendly, they had played against Aris Limassol. David Philipp also played in the 3-0 victory over Cyprus and also managed to get on the scoresheet.
