Claudio Pizarro will miss Werder’s trip to face Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday after results of scans confirmed that the Peruvian had suffered a thigh injury during Wednesday’s training session.

The injury will keep Pizarro out of action for several weeks, with a return date dependent on the length of the recovery time.
