Werder sporting director Frank Baumann watched on in the stadium as Yuya Osako and Japan sealed their place in the Asia Cup quarter-finals. Osako didn’t feature in the 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia, but a goal from defender Takehiro Tomiyasu was enough to for the Samurai Blue to advance.

Frank Baumann is in the United Arab Emirates to watch several of the teams compete at the tournament and hopes to be impressed. “I will try to watch as many of the round of sixteen matches as possible,” said Baumann to WERDER.de.
