Swedish international and World Cup participant Ludwig Augustinsson has signed an early contract extension with SV Werder Bremen.
“I am really pleased that Ludwig has decided to extend his contract with Werder. He is a very important member of our squad. He proved his quality on multiple occasions last season and went a step further as a player by participating in the World Cup this summer,” said Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt.
“Ludwig definitely attracted the attention from some other clubs during the World Cup. For this reason, I am pleased that we managed to convince him that Werder is the right club for him and that he should extend his contract here,” explained Fran Baumann, Werder Sporting Director.
Ludwig Augustinsson is looking forward to his future playing in Green-White: “I felt like I was at home from my very first day at Werder. I am happy here and want to stay to develop further as a player. We have a good squad and I think we can achieve something this season. I am looking forward to being a part of this squad ahead of a very exciting season.”
Ludwig Augustinsson joined SV Werder Bremen from FC Copenhagen in 2017. He made 29 appearances for the club last season, scoring one goal.
