Sour news for Aron Jóhannsson and Werder Bremen. The striker must undergo an operation in Tübingen for his left ankle and will not return to team training for a further three months.
“Aron has had pain in his left ankle for the last few weeks and been dealing with constant problems. We are confident that he will experience no pain after the surgery. What’s important is that he gets healthy again now,” explained Werder’s Sporting Director Frank Baumann, who has also precluded the transfer of Aron Jóhannsson during the winter break.
Claudio Pizarro is also having a short break from training. The Werder striker will not be involved in team training in the upcoming days due to a calf problem. “We are confident that he will be available for the game against Freiburg,” said Werder head coach Florian Kohfeldt to WERDER.DE.
