The World Cup dream still lives on for two Werder players. Ludwig Augustinsson and Thomas Delaney will try and help their countries to reach the world’s biggest football tournament in Russia next year when Sweden and Denmark play in two-legged playoff ties in the upcoming international break. Left back Augustinsson will represent Sweden against Italy on the 10th and 13th November, while Delaney will play for Denmark in their clashes with Ireland on the 11th and 14th November. All the games will kick off at 20:45 CET.

One country who have already punched their World Cup ticket is Serbia. Managed by ex-Werder man Mladen Krstajic, Milos Velijkovic could make his international debut. In order to do so, however, he’ll have to travel quite a way. Next up for the Serbians are games against China (10th November) and South Korea (14th November), both away from home.

Jiri Pavlenka has an equally unfamiliar trip ahead of him. The Czech goalkeeper will go to Doha to take on Iceland (8th November) and then Qatar (14th November). Theodor Gebre Selassie has also been selected to the squad and will be available to play once again.

Niklas Moisander and Florian Kainz have friendlies of their own on the cards. Moisander, who is the captain of the Finland international side, will lead his country against Estonia in Helsinki on 9th November. Kainz is looking to make another start for Austria in their friendly against Uruguay on 14th November.

After Johannes Eggestein had his first taste of U21 international football in the last break, the Werder striker has his chance to prove that he deserves to be selected for that level again when the Germany U20s take on Italy (9th November) and England (14th November). Ulisses Garcia continues his European Championships qualification campaign with Switzerland. They play Portugal on 14th November.
