Serbia are out of the World Cup in Russia. The team coached by former Werder player Mladen Krstajic lost 2-0 to Brazil. Paulinho (36’) and Thiago Silva (68’) scored their side’s decisive goals. Milos Veljkovic made his World Cup debut in only his third international appearance and played the full 90 minutes.

Just one win from three games was not enough for Serbia to progress to the knockout phase. Veljkovic and Co. ended in third place in Group E, whilst Brazil and Switzerland qualify for the last 16. As runners up, the Swiss are set to face Ludwig Augustinsson’s Sweden on Tuesday, 3rd July, at 16:00 CEST.
